FREE THINGS TO DO IN OMAHA

Omaha is a town full of fun – and many of our events & activities are free!  For visitors and locals, we have listed some activities that families will enjoy:

1.  Stroll the Old Market in downtown Omaha. It has over 80 shops, 30 pubs and multiple restaurants.

2.  Not too far from the Old Market, young and old alike will enjoy the magnificent ‘slides’ at the Gene Leahy Mall.

3.  The Heartland of America Park offers a 300 foot high fountain with spectacular evening light shows.

4.  Walk across the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, the longest pedestrain bridge linking two states (Iowa & Nebraska).

5.  Enjoy a leisurely walk along our newly developed Riverfront while enjoying the monument to Labor scuplture at the Lewis & Clark Landing.

6.  Mt. Vernon Gardens contains beautiful displays of flowers on a bluff-like setting.

7.  Take time to visit Memorial Park which honors our military forces from WWII, Korea and the Vietnam wars.

8.  Concert events include the Jazz on the Green during July & August at Midtown Crossing or Playing with Fire May thru September on the Riverfront

9.  Visit Boystown Hall of History, Visitors Center  and the Father Flanagan House.

10.  Omaha has a memorial to Gerald Ford, our 38th U.S. President, who was born in Omaha.

11.  Be sure to enjoy some of our festivals and parades during the summer months which include Earth Day, Florence Days, Shakespeare on the Green, Taste of Omaha, The Greek Festival, Santa Lucia Festival, Bank of the West concert and fireworks, Cinco de Mayo, Millard Days, and Septemberfest.
